Occupational Transitions
So that was the first edit of the video and here is the second =) if you can't see it click here
Occuaptional transition is defined as altering the meaning of a persons or peoples occupations through contextual factors (Lee, Calder, Crider & Forwell, 2011) This short film takes a look at the occupational transition into being a university or polytechnic student. It is sure to amuse you!
As part of the requirements for our participation in occupation paper we were asked to work as a group and to look at one of four prprinciples: occupational justice,
occupational disruption, occupational transition, or occupational
deprivation.
This short film was a work of art from the start, requiring the skills of the whole group to pull it off, acting, computer genius's, camera people, planners, you name it and it was covered. Our plan originally covered the term occupational disruption but we soon changed it to occupational transition to cover some of the experiences that we had all felt in our first year at university or polytechnic. As the camera we were using could not produce clear sound, we made the movie silent and did not have to make a set script for the actors we just went with the flow mainly. Although we ensured that we did get the shots that we needed for film. All up this was a fantastic way to look at how changing occupations can be for people.
